At 23.2 kilometres long, the Achensee Run is one of Austria’s most spectacular running events. The route, which is longer than a half-marathon, takes runners around Tirol’s largest lake. Running enthusiasts can look forward to versatile terrain surrounded by the impressive Rofan and Karwendel mountains. The countdown to the Achensee Run 2024 on 07 and 08 September 2024 is on!

From Pertisau around Lake Achensee
The International Achensee Run starts at 10:00 near the Karwendel cable car in Pertisau. The fastest runners complete the 23.2 km course in ca. 1 hour and 15 minutes. One of the most exciting races is the 2-person relay race comprising two parts (9km and 14.2km).
The course of the Achensee Run leads from Pertisau via Maurach, Achenkirch and the challenging trail on the Mariensteig and Gaisalmsteig back to Pertisau. At 23.2 kilometres long, the scenic route takes runners along the shores of Lake Achensee over varied terrain with some challenging climbs.
I always loved running. It was something you could do by yourself, and under your own power. You could go in any direction, fast or slow as you wanted, fighting the wind if you felt like it, seeking out new sights just on the strength of your feet and the courage of your lungs. (Jesse Owens)
